The essence of place—and the social qualities that connect its past, present and future—have been the subject of two recent Montana projects (each supported in part by Humanities Montana): Butte, America, the documentary film by Pamela Roberts, and the Butte Digital Film Project, sponsored by the Butte Silver Bow Public Library.

I love how blue the light is in this one...even though it's a little blurry it really captures the evening light in snow out here in the boonies.

Took this just today. It's of the Clark Fork, looking east from the Petty Creek bridge, about 25 miles west of Missoula. Still nearly 10 miles from home, but turning off the highway and crossing this bridge is always somehow comforting....

Taken this past weekend - so many icicles in town and country, it's tough to choose .....
