POETRY SALON 2010

We're going to do it again! This year's salon focuses on advocacy. What should next year's be about? Cultivating readers? Supporting writers? Or perhaps a reading theme like, say, "Rivers"? Please share ideas in the comments section below.

With apologies to Magritte, this year's buffalo evokes the inaugural Montana Poetry Salon's central question: What exactly is this?

And then:

What is poetry's state of existence in Montana? In a place so geographically expansive, how do we form a poetry community? How do we stay in touch and in reach? How do we stay informed? How do we cultivate readers as well as writers?

Yes, dear reader, the buffalo evokes all that.

Join us for the salon as we celebrate poetry advocacy, slam next year's event, and, of course, enjoy some fine poetry
